Screening & Lecture: “Clash of the Titans” – Science Museum Oklahoma

$25The second installment in Science Museum Oklahoma’s “Ray Harryhausen – Mythical Menagerie” fall film and lecture series, 1981’s “Clash of the Titans,” will include special guests Vanessa Harryhausen, daughter of stop-motion animation pioneer Ray Harryhausen, and Connor Heaney, collections manager for The Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation.
The screening will include a lecture about the movie’s history and legacy and a first-of-its-kind post-screening Q&A with Heaney and Vanessa Harryhausen.
Vanessa Harryhausen was on-set during the filming of “Clash of the Titans” and “Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger.” Her unique perspective on her legendary father’s life and career will be warmly recounted in public for the first time.

VIP tickets are $100 and include a reception and meet-and-greet with Heaney and Vanessa Harryhausen, reserved seats in the auditorium, and access to the exhibit both before and after the screening.
General admission tickets are $25 and include the screening, lecture, Q&A, and access to the exhibition following the screening.

SMO’s “Ray Harryhausen – Mythical Menagerie” includes original art and models from five 20th century Harryhausen classics: “Clash of the Titans,” “The 7th Voyage of Sinbad,” “Jason and the Argonauts,” “The Golden Voyage of Sinbad” and “Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger.”
Included in the nearly 150 artifacts on exhibit are original armatures of Medusa, the Kraken, Bubo the Owl and Pegasus from “Clash of the Titans.” The exhibition can only be seen at Science Museum Oklahoma through Dec. 3.
